A Leadership Prayer:

Lord, let me first to awake so I may lead my family.
And last to the bed as to insure their safety.

Let, me be the first to admit when I am wrong.
And let me remain humble throughout all my life long.

Let me be the first to speak up for the poor, the helpless, & the broken.
And erase my sinful pride so I may not become pious and outspoken.

Let me be the first to read Your word and pray.
And let me be the last to study Your word at the end of each day.

Let me be the first to consider Your ways.
And let me be the last to fall back into my old sinful ways.

Let me be the first to stay disciplined.
And let me be the last to leave a hurting friend.

Let me be the first to offer all that I have.
And help me to lift up others whose hearts are sad.

Let me be the first to open my heart, my home, and my wallet.
And let me be the last to expose another’s faults.

Let me be the first to commit to you each day Lord.
And keep me from ever falling away from your Holy word.
Let me be thy servant, committed to your plans…
And let me not forget that my sins were washed by the blood of your hands.

Let me remember your words when I desire to be first in this life:

“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:43-45

Keep my heart filled with your spirit, my life available to serve, and humble me so I may never be far from your sight.

In Christ’s name I pray,
Amen
