As we overhaul, we all know the danger of a hidden fire. In life, if we leave a situation unresolved or we don’t properly deal with it, it will ‘rekindle’ and as in a fire it will cause much greater damage the second time.
Overhaul is tough work, it isn’t the fun and adrenaline filled experience that we had upon the initial attack of the fire.
In life, overhauling our problem will be even tougher work. We must get to the ‘seat of the fire’ and remove any charred remains/embers that could cause us further pain later.
We often hesitate to finish the job because we are scared of what we may find, being vulnerable, and allowing others to see the dark parts of our lives.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart;Try me, and know my anxieties;”Psalm 139:23
The truth is this:
We cannot guarantee that our problems will not rekindle. It is only by giving your life to Jesus that you can be “made a new creation”.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
The pain of inner torment dies when you give it to the one who died for you. He has faced the fire so we don’t have to.
Call on Him and He will answer.
